Superstar Hologram
Winslow Studio collaborated with Kamp Grizzly to bring Adidas’ vision for their Superstar campaign to life with a unique holographic installation at NBA All-Star Weekend in San Francisco. Our role was to design and execute an immersive projection experience that seamlessly integrated with the event’s bold, minimal aesthetic. We optimized immersion by using ultra-short-throw projectors which eliminated cast shadows, allowing guests to stand within the structure, mere inches from our screens without interrupting the projections for others. Our nearly invisible holoscrim helped create an illusion of floating visuals highlighting the Superstar’s legacy, future product drops, and SS25 campaign storytelling.
The installation was a key feature during the Adidas All-Star Weekend party, hosted by Adidas athlete Damian Lillard. Guests were able to walk through the projection space, where graphics wrapped around a central footwear display. By leveraging precise projector placement and content mapping, we ensured that the visuals felt weightless, appearing and disappearing depending on the viewer’s perspective.
Our approach combined technical precision with a deep understanding of immersive, cutting-edge storytelling, resulting in a visually striking installation that reimagined how audiences engage with sneaker culture and brand heritage.
Holoscrim & Projection
Winslow Studio played a key role in bringing the holographic experience to life, from early concept testing to final execution.
Our focus was on initial creative concepting of a multi-layered hologram, 3D pre-visualization for the structure, specifying and sourcing the scrim, and advising both the environmental designer and fabricator to ensure seamless integration. We facilitated holoscrim tests in Portland, advising Kamp Grizzly and Adidas to refine their approach for post-production leading into the event, as well as best practices when controlling ambient & environmental lighting.
On-site, we integrated projector placement, installed and mapped to the holoscrim, and managed playback.
