Tinker
Shoebox
Winslow Studio collaborated with Wieden+Kennedy on a unique installation for an internal event celebrating the legendary Tinker Hatfield and his groundbreaking contributions to footwear design. Our studio was tasked with creating a captivating and seemingly magical object with all the technology hidden within a large-scale replica of a shoebox.
The installation featured a replica of the original 1987 Nike Air Max 1, designed to illuminate the iconic midsole air bubble. To achieve this effect, we utilized a compact Rosco high-output light fixture, a DMX controller, and concealed LED strip lighting. The result was a seamless integration of technology and design, creating a visually striking tribute to Hatfield's legacy.
This installation, now on display at Wieden+Kennedy's office, was a highlight of the celebratory event and a meaningful project for Winslow Studio, given the significance of Hatfield's influence on design.
