Survivor 50 Premiere
Winslow Studio was commissioned by Tool of NA to provide Projection Direction for the premiere of Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans at New York City's luxury immersive event space, Hall des Lumières.
We composited fully immersive projections for the Historical Floor and The Bank Vault using environmental footage from this season's filming location — the Mamanuca Islands in Fiji — provided directly from primetime Emmy winner and long-time Survivor cinematographer, Scott Duncan.
During the day, immersive projections transported visitors to daytime Fiji for the culmination of The Survivor 50 Challenge; a nationwide scavenger hunt that featured fifty hidden immunity idols, one in each state, with participants solving clues and riddles to find them to earn a chance to attend the live Season 50 Premiere at HDL. Projection footage then transitioned from day to night to welcome attendees of the Season 50 Premiere, which included Challenge winners, Survivor contestants, Survivor host Jeff Probst, and CBS executives.

Utilizing existing pre-visualization and projection templates provided by HDL’s production team, we were able to take the footage provided by Survivor and translate it across both 360º immersive spaces to ensure proper scaling, alignment, and a realistic immersive experience for attendees. HDL provided valuable feedback and support, optimizing multiple iterations to support our goal of implementing visuals that worked seamlessly within the space.
